Morning vs night routines (what actually matters)
A lot of people think they need a 10-step skincare routine to get results… but honestly? Most skin improves when routines become more consistent and less overwhelming.
Your morning and nighttime routines should have different goals.
☀️ Morning Routine Goal:
Protect your skin.
At minimum, your morning routine should:
✔ Gently cleanse
✔ Hydrate
✔ Protect with SPF
Your skin is exposed all day to:
Sun exposure
Pollution
Sweat
Environmental stress
Dry air + irritation
This is why hydration + SPF matter so much in the morning.
🌙 Night Routine Goal:
Repair your skin.
Nighttime is when your skin naturally goes into recovery mode.
This is the best time for:
✔ Double cleansing
✔ Exfoliation (when appropriate)
✔ Barrier support
✔ Hydrating serums
✔ Moisturizers + recovery products
The biggest mistake I see?
People overdoing nighttime routines with too many acids, scrubs, and actives all at once.
More products do not equal better skin.
A simple routine done consistently will almost always outperform an aggressive routine you can’t maintain.
My personal “less but effective” philosophy:
Cleanse
Targeted correction
Hydration
Barrier support
SPF
Healthy skin doesn’t need chaos.
It needs consistency.
